PMO-Misamis Occidental/Ozamiz is now an ISO-certified Port
With zero nonconformity during the Stage Two (2) Certification Audit conducted by the ISO Certifying Body, TUV Rheinland Philippines on December 11, 2014, the Port of Ozamiz, PMO-Misamis Occidental/Ozamiz implemented Quality Management System on Vessel Entrance and Clearance Process was certified to ISO 9001:2008.
In said audit, there were six (6) positive findings and ten (10) Opportunities for Improvement based on the Initial Report by the External Auditors.
As to its making, from the start of QMS implementation in June 2014 to the Certification Audit with subsequent favorable recommendation for certification in December 2014 came about for a six (6)-month period only. This has to be described as truly remarkable!
PM Noeme W. Calderon during the closing part of the post- audit conference expressed that as the 7th ISO certified port, the PMO is geared for continuous improvement of the management system and conveyed kudos for the collaborative efforts of the PMO personnel and the support from Head Office, which all paved the way for the ISO certification.
